COMFORTABLE PRESSURE

Today’s pressure is high. We want to perform on the highest level at work and school. And beyond we are busy to keep our friends and family happy. We are busier than ever before, the time to sleep and relax is minimal. On busy days we long for our bed, so why don’t we take that comfortable bed feeling with us through our clothes.

iNDiViDUALS showed us a catwalk-show inspired by the feeling of not wanting to leave your bed on a Sunday morning. It seemed like the models had just woken up, just out of bed, but still perfectly styled. The clothes were suitable to wear on every time of the day. The colours were based on the moon and the fabrics were inspired by nightwear and sheets. As iNDiViDUALS called their collection: “A comfortable collection based the context of social pressure and expectations.” At the MBFWA event we saw a contrast. There were people with a hectic lifestyle, so they don’t have time to perfectly dress up for this event. Overall everyone was dressed comfortably, wrapped in black and grey. With exception of a few people, who are dressed in a distinct style. Probably they had more time..

For all the busy workers, mothers, fathers, friends and students, it is great to see that we can dress comfortably. Today it was obvious; the out-of-bed look is suitable in style!
