Office buildings are often seen as dull. It’s a place where you just have to do your work, but you feel not comfortable at all. But office buildings are changing. Large companies realize that the appearance and opportunities of the office influences the achievements of their employees. Within twenty years, offices will be a lot different. Office buildings will offer more opportunities and activities, besides this it will be a colorful, inspirational place.

I can conclude that changes are going on from different signals. Take for example the new office of Google in Amsterdam. Also called Google-Garage or Feel-Goodoffice. This office is funished in a modern and colorful way, styled with typical Dutch elements. The reception has the shape of a dilivery bicycle and ceiling panels seems like syrupwaffles. Chargers and computer accessories can be pulled from the wall, like we dutchies do with snacks at the Febo. Inside the building are several creatively designed workplaces, which serve as inspiration. Daily Google offers a healthy breakfast and lunch to keep employees healthy. In addition, there is a meditation room and employees can use deskbikes. Deskbikes are a combination of a hometrainer and desk. When designing this building sustainability was seen as an important value. Existing furniture got a second life and only materials approved by Google are used.

This Feel-Goodoffice is a place that improves the functioning of employees. Isn’t it COOL that this office satisfies different needs. Fundamental elements of this concept are happiness, comfort, flexibility, relaxation, movement, light, fresh air, visual stimulus and balanced catering. With this elements employees will be inspired and this will make them move different and positively. This Feel-Goodoffice has a positive impact on the Quality Of Life, especially in the field of health. Employees will preform better in offices like this. Therefore I expect that in the FUTURE more and more companies will change their offices to improve the Quality Of Life of their employees. This will be inspiring and mind-expanding for employees and in this way companies will recruit better results. So we can speak of a win-win situation.
