Shopping, definitely one of my most favorite things to do in my leisure time. Amsterdam and Utrecht are the best towns to shop in the Netherlands. I have some friends near to the centrum of Amsterdam, so I always try to visit this city once a month. When I visited my friend, she told me about a new store ‘Believe the hype’ which is located at the Hazenstraat 67. Of course I wanted to take a look.
DIY (Do-It-Yourself) is an hype. A lot of fashion and design bloggers are posting updates about DIY-stuff. The owner of ‘Believe the hype’ noted the fact that there is a lot of DIY-stuff online, but offline there is a lack. Because of that DIY-offline-lack she opened her own store. At this store it’s possible to choose a color and size of a t-shirt or sweater and print this with your ‘own’ text, so you can ‘DIY’. Besides the t-shirts and sweater they sell home decorations like dream catchers, bottles and paintings. The owner is selling self-made handbags, these bags are created from old sofas. Nowadays every fashion passionate girl is busy with the famous nail art. In this store it is possible to get your nails done nicely. She is offering shellac, a new kind of nail polish that remains two weeks. You can color your nails with ombre, dipdye, flowers, skulls and crosses.
Isn’t it COOL that this shop offers you the possibility to create your own t-shirts and nails, so they perfectly fit your style. Individualism is a trend and everybody wants to be different and special, we call this virtual co-creation. Sustainability is also a trend, currently it’s about creating a better world, so we try to recycle a lot of things. This store appeals to this two visions. In the FUTURE more stores and products will adapt their vision to virtual co-creation. So everybody is able to adapt their own ‘style’ to a product or service.
